Hire Information

Conveniently located in the heart of Highbridge, Southwell House provides ample free parking away from main roads, adjacent to Highbridge Recreational Park. This prime location allows guests to enjoy the spectacle of Burnbridge Wanderers FC playing most weekends during the football season.

Southwell House offers its rental services at a modest hourly fee, with no hidden charges beyond the hourly rate.

  • Equipped with a fully functional kitchen boasting a full-sized electric cooker, microwave, and fridge, along with well-stocked cupboards of cooking utensils, pots, and crockery, it ensures convenience for all culinary needs.
  • Foldaway doors spanning the width of the main rooms provide the option to separate the kitchen area from the seating or to embrace an open-plan layout. These doors are also soundproof, allowing private meetings to take place.
  • The building is kept comfortably warm with storage heaters and additional electric heaters for those chillier days.
  • Two toilets, including one fitted for disabled use, are conveniently located within the premises.
  • For added flexibility, several fold-up tables are available upon request, allowing for customisable layouts tailored to individual preferences.

Throughout the week, various groups take advantage of the house's amenities on a weekly or fortnightly basis, including sewing, art, and U3A groups.

The availability of all the amenities is solely attributed to the dedicated efforts and unwavering commitment of their trustees and volunteers from Highbridge.

Their vision and determination led to the establishment of the charity, enabling the acquisition and preservation of Southwell House and Gardens for the community.

If you feel inspired to contribute your time as a volunteer or have fundraising ideas to support the ongoing maintenance and development of Southwell House and Gardens, the team encourages you to share your thoughts with the Admin Managers and their team. Your input is invaluable in sustaining this cherished community resource for generations to come.

Please ask friends and family to share and follow our organisation for future events taking place. There are plans to hold car boot events on the first Saturday of every month until September and they wish to encourage others to have a craft stall/car boot. It’s only £5 a pitch, but it’s outdoors (so weather permitting) you need your table or tarp for ground space.
